About the event: Zero Waste: the art of up-cycled quilting, mixed media and textiles. Climate change is causing lasting and devastating problems for our world right now. Join Mayne Island, BC, quilter/textile artist Sandra Sandvik who will share via Zoom a look into the world of up-cycle quilting and textiles! Sandra will discuss the devastating effects of the textile industry on our climate while offering creative and beautiful solutions. Her trunk show will include her innovative up-cycled quilts and textiles with the use and reuse of fabric scraps to ensure nothing goes to waste. She will also share many ideas from the textile creative community to give you a jumpstart for your own up-cycled projects.
